I’m telling myself the story of my life

In a chamber of my heart sits an accountant.
He is frowning and waving red paper at me.
I go to the window for air.
I catch the scent of apples.
I hunger for a taste, but I can’t see the orchard for the rain.

I Trawl The Megahertz by Paddy McAloon:

So hold me mom, in your long arms.
Your petrochemical arms, your military arms.
In your electronic arms.

O Superman by Laurie Anderson:

My father, lives in a desert, of his own making.
He lived in a mansion, now it’s a slum, now it’s abandoned.
He is trying to make time stand still,
But he knows he never can, and he knows he never will.

Desert by Screech Owls:

Bonus track; Hana by Asa Chang & Junray:

Look up Paddy McAloon for information about the extraordinary record I Trawl The Megahertz.

Find out more about Laurie Anderson at her web site.

For a few more great Screech Owls tracks, take a look here or here, or give Debbie Schow a wave on twitter.

And finally, you can find some of the Asa Chang & Junray records on the Leaf label.
